  • Profile

Science and technology are typical features of our modern society. I try to understand how these pre-eminently human activities influence the way we live and try to understand ourselves.

  • Bio

    Short Biography

I studied psychology (1998) and science and technology studies (2003) at the University of Amsterdam. Since 1998 I have taught psychology, social sciences and psychobiology at various universities. Currently I teach and coordinate the Honours Programme Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. In addition, I write about brain science for a wider audience. Since September 2010 I have been working on a PhD-thesis on the history of deep brain stimulation for psychiatric disorders.
