    Assistant professor

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology and (Research) Master's degree in Behavioural Science at Radboud University Nijmegen. After this, I obtained my PhD degree at the department of Social and Organizational Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with dr. Thomas Pollet and prof. Mark van Vugt. In my dissertation, I examined the psychological effects of human height from a social perception, interpersonal behavior, and individual differences perspective.

The common theme in my research is social perception: I am intrigued by the process of how perceptions of ourselves and others influence our social behavior. As a strong advocate of interdisciplinary research, I strive to incorporate different disciplines (e.g. social and organizational psychology, evolutionary psychology, sociology, business studies) and methods (e.g. experimental lab studies, longitudinal online studies, Virtual Reality, physiological measures) in order to get to the bottom of a research question. My current research focuses on diversity in the workplace, female leadership, and how to promote gender equality and climates of inclusion.

Keywords: interpersonal perception, self-perception, diversity at work, (female) leadership and gender equality, physical features (height)
