Tycho Dekkers works as assistant professor at the department of Developmental Psychology. His research interest is about the development of children and adolescents with externalizing problems, with a particular focus on psychosocial interventions for children with ADHD and behavioral problems. He obtained his PhD in January 2020 (cum laude) with a dissertation on risk-taking behavior in adolescents with ADHD. He is involved with the PAINT consortium (Psychosocial ADHD Interventions) and is a member of the Dutch Academic Workspace ADHD and the Dutch ADHD Netwerk. Furthermore, Tycho is a joint editor of the journal Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
Tycho also has an appointment as a senior researcher with Accare (Academic Child Psychiatry Groningen), and works in clinical practice as GZ-psychologist and expertise-coordinator ADHD at Levvel, academic center for child- and adolescent psychiatry and specialized youth care, in Amsterdam. His ultimate goal is to impove the link between science and clinical practice.
